Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2

Everybody that is employed as a carer within the care sector should aim to achieve a Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care.  This will enable them to carry out their job more successfully and to a higher standard. The NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care is divided into units that stipulate the information required by service providers to affect care within their roles.

The units are constructed of compulsory and optional units and you will be required to complete a blend of these so that you can attain your Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 award.

What is in a Health and Social Care NVQ 2?
A Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 in is constructed of 6 units. All candidates must complete all compulsory units, then choose 2 units from the selection of optional units.

Compulsory Units for Health and Social Care NVQ level 2 in:

• NVQ in Care Level 2.21: Communicate with and complete records for service users.
• NVQ in Care Level 2.22: Support the health and safety of yourself and service users
• NVQ in Care Level 2.23: Develop your knowledge and practice
• NVQ in Care Level 2.24: Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well- being of individuals

• Care Assistants who work in the care sector
• Support workers who work in the care sector

How long is Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 course?
The Majority of students take between 3 and 6 months to complete the course.

How is the Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 assessed?
As a candidate you will be assessed by a qualified NVQ assessor. You will be assessed your place of employment at a time that is suitable to you. Usually you will have an initial induction which will be followed by 4 additional assessments.
candidates are offered telephone help throughout the day, and one to one contact with our specially trained nvq in care Assessors. NVQ 2 in care candidates will have all the help and training assistance needed to successfully drive their careers in to the future.

What happens when you complete the course?
You will be awarded a Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 upon successful completion. This should be sent to you within 10 weeks of completion of the course once it has been verified by the awarding body.
